Parassinikadavu Muthappan temple

Parassinikadavu Muthappan temple is a temple, located at Parassinikadavu in Anthoor Municipality on the banks of the Valapattanam river about 10 km tern Ghats and has a height of around 1372 m above sea level .

The traditional story of Parassinikkadavu Muthappan describes the background of the deity. The naduvazhi (ruler) of Eruvessi, in Kannur, Ancharamanaykkal Vazhunnavar, was unhappy, as he had no child. His wife, Padikutty Amma, was a devotee of Lord Shiva. She made a sacrifice to Shiva for children.
